One Day in Bangpu — Hour-by-Hour Itinerary: Temples, Merit-Making & Seafood

Most people think of Bangpu as just "that seagull place." It's so much more. Within a 15-kilometer radius, you have Thailand's largest open-air museum, one of the most serene temples in the province, a nature reserve with migratory birds, crab release spots for merit-making, and genuine oceanside dining — not the tourist-trap kind. This itinerary packs everything into one satisfying day. You'll leave feeling like you discovered something most Bangkok residents don't even know about.

7:30 — Leave Bangkok Take the expressway or Sukhumvit Road. With light traffic, you'll reach Bangpu in 35–45 minutes. 8:30–9:30 — Crab Release Head to the Bangpu coastline near the recreation center. Vendors sell crabs for release (฿100–300). A peaceful, meditative way to start the day. 9:45–10:30 — Wat Asokaram 10 minutes from the coast.
